Hey there, I'm Destini! I received my undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology from Jacksonville State University and a graduate degree in Social Work from Alabama A&M University. My post graduate training includes cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma informed/trauma responsive care. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, certified Juvenile Sexual Offending Counselor, and certified Spiritual Director. I am passionate about serving individuals and families, cultivating leaders, and influencing service provision.
My approach to therapy emphasizes a holistic and spiritual perspective, focusing on fostering deeper connections and personal growth. I support individuals experiencing life transitions, guiding them to find meaning and purpose during these transformative times. My goal is to create a safe, empathetic space for exploration, encouraging clients to align their personal values with their life experiences.

Princess Johnson-Higgins (she/her) is an Associate Licensed Counselor. Princess earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served on the executive board for Unite for Reproductive Justice and Gender Equity (URGE) and worked in the field of reproductive justice after graduating in 2019. She decided to shift her focus and returned to school to get her master’s in Counseling (Couples and Family Therapy) from the University of Montevallo. Princess provides individual, couples, and family counseling and aspires to provide an affirming and safe space for everyone to discover their most authentic selves. She is a member of the Alabama Counseling Association (ALCA) and the Alabama Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (ALAMCD). She uses a humanistic, person-centered, and feminist approach to bring that safe space to life.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Psychology, both from the University of Montevallo. I work with adults in individual therapy with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma (including dissociation). I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and Ego State Therapy, combined with expressive arts to help clients heal. I am an approved provider for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and Viva and sometimes available to work on a sliding fee scale. I am licensed by The Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified by The National Board for Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor, certified in EMDR by the EMDR International Association, and certified by the Center for Credentialing and Education as a Board Certified Telemental Health Provider.

I am a Birmingham, Alabama native. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa (Roll Tide Roll!!!) and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Alabama, Birmingham (Go Blazers). I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a National Board Certified Counselor. I am also a DONA International certified birth doula and a DONA International trained postpartum doula. For over 20 years I've worked with individuals on the autism spectrum and conduct disorders. I now specialize in working with adults challenged by anxiety, grief and perinatal mood and anxiety disorder/ postpartum depression and anxiety disorder. Currently I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, PEEHIP, Medicaid and Tricare insurance. I do not accept United Healthcare at this time.

Pamela Kay Yancey, MA, LPC-S, RPT, NCC, BC-TMH is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor with a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. With more than 30 years of experience, Pamela works with individuals across the lifespan and spectrums of ability, neurodiversity, sexual identity, and gender expression. As a Registered Play Therapist, other specialty areas include child-centered play therapy, sandtray therapy, treatment of childhood disorders, and parent-child relationship issues. She believes that all people with all abilities in all bodies deserve equal access to affirming and culturally responsive care.
